Our Invisalign® Process at Serenity Dental

Each aligner is custom-made using a combination of Dr. Yoo’s expertise and advanced 3D imaging technology to ensure a precise, comfortable fit. Using 3D images of your teeth and gums, Dr. Yoo will design a customized treatment plan and show you a 3d image of what your final results will look like. The Invisalign lab will then create your clear invisible aligners.

You’ll wear each set of aligners for about 1-2 weeks, only removing them to eat, drink, brush, and floss. As you progress through the series, your teeth will gradually shift into their ideal position. 

Throughout treatment, you’ll visit our office approximately every six weeks to monitor your progress. While treatment time varies for each patient, most cases take 3 to 9 months, with an average of 14 to 28 aligners used. 

Is Invisalign® Right for You?

Clear Invisalign braces are best suited for patients with mild to moderate orthodontic issues, including overbite, underbite, crossbite, misalignment, and crowding. If you have a more complex orthodontic problem or the issue is severe, conventional braces may be a better choice.

How long does Invisalign treatment take?

It depends on the severity of the correction needed. Some patients may only need three months, while others may require nine months or more. It is rare for a patient to need Invisalign invisible braces for more than a year.

Does insurance cover Invisalign?

Some dental insurance policies may cover Invisalign at the same coverage rate and limits as traditional braces. Please check with your provider to determine your coverage limits and any deductibles.

Does Invisalign hurt?

When you switch to a new set of invisible aligners, you may feel some mild pressure, indicating the aligners are doing their job. This discomfort will fade in a day or two.

Can I eat and drink with Invisalign?

To eat or drink anything other than water, always remove your aligners. After eating or drinking, brush your teeth if possible. If not, rinse your mouth and aligners thoroughly before returning them to your mouth.

Are Invisalign® results permanent?

The results of Invisalign invisible braces will last for years, but are not necessarily permanent. To maintain your teeth’s straightness for as long as possible, Dr. Yoo will provide a retainer for you to wear after treatment is completed.
